Lemberg Environmental Action Force Tshirt

The Lemberg Environmental Action Force (LEAF) is a new youth development program for high school students from Waltham High School. For 6 weeks this summer, 9 paid interns, chosen in collaboration with the Waltham Partnership for Youth, worked on various environmental stewardship projects at Lemberg and around Waltham. With great enthusiasm, perseverance and endurance, our 9 interns and 2 program leaders planted two large native wildflower gardens to increase pollinator habitat, removed invasive species along the Charles River and at the Stanley Elementary School, painted gorgeous murals on the raised beds at Lemberg and learned about organic gardening and regenerative soil restoration. The T-shirts display our mascot, the Carolina Wren, a tiny bird with a HUGE voice, and corn plants, a native food source for thousands of years in our area.
