This month brings meaningful opportunities to honor families, embrace diversity, and recognize the incredible accomplishments of those in our community. Below are some of the special moments we’ll be highlighting together.
May Day (May 1)
May Day marks the arrival of spring—a time of growth, renewal, and new beginnings. In our classrooms, children will explore seasonal changes through nature-based activities, crafts, and outdoor play. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the beauty of the world around us and the joy of learning together.
Mother’s Day (May 10)
We look forward to celebrating Mother’s Day and all the important caregivers in our children’s lives. Throughout the week, children will be creating special handmade projects to show appreciation for the love, care, and support they receive at home. We honor all families and the many ways care and connection are expressed.
International Day of Families (May 15)
Family is at the heart of everything we do. On this day, we celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of families in our community. Through stories, discussions, and activities, children will reflect on what makes their family special while learning to appreciate the experiences of others.
World Day for Cultural Diversity (May 21)
Our center is proud to be a place where different cultures, backgrounds, and traditions are valued and celebrated. This day gives us an opportunity to highlight the richness of our community. Classrooms may explore music, stories, languages, and traditions from around the world, helping children build understanding and respect for others.
Memorial Day
As we approach Memorial Day, we take time to reflect on the importance of remembrance and gratitude. In age-appropriate ways, we will talk with children about honoring those who have helped and served others, emphasizing themes of kindness, community, and appreciation.
Celebrating Our Graduates
This year, we are especially proud to recognize the 42 students from Brandeis University who have worked with us and are now graduating. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and care have made a lasting impact on our children and our center. We are incredibly grateful for the time they’ve shared with us and wish them all the best as they begin their next chapters. Congratulations to each of you—you will always be part of our community!
